New Ministry of Health delegates from OPSEU Local 468 had the opportunity to travel to Toronto this past weekend and experience first hand being an active member of OPSEU. The OPS Divisionals, which occur every two years, is a chance for delegates and committee members to participate in a voting process to select Ministry Employee Relation Committee (MERC) members, as well as a Chair and Vice Chair for their Ministry.

Attendees of the conference learned about OPSEU and were able to network with individuals from the Ministry of Health as well as other Ministries across Ontario. Special focus was given to new delegates with an information session designed to inform them about OPSEU structure and values.

Speeches were given by Union President Warren (Smokey) Thomas and Vice President Eduardo (Eddy) Almeida, re-enforcing OPSEU’s commitment to fight Doug Ford and to continue the OPSEU efforts in achieving employee fairness.
