Regional Strike and Picket Meeting

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

At this past weekend’s Region 4 gathering regarding Strike preparations several locals met to discuss events that have been held so far as well as possible future events to gather support and disseminate information around a possible work disruption.

Our human chain around the building (twice) was very successful along with our Form B table set up in the lobby of 49 Place D Armes was more than noticed by the employer.

Other locals have done a few other actions as well to draw attention to themselves, such as a “Blue Balloon’ day, All Black Tuesday’s, Leaving a Strike Manual or Collective agreement prominently displayed on their desktops to mention a few. Our local Strike Committee has plans in the works for upcoming events and Information Pickets as well such as visiting our very own Sophie Kiwala so stay tuned for upcoming announcements.

Also, our Region four representative Dylan Lineger gave us a brief overview of the bargaining committee status and an insight into negotiations of Emergency Essential Services.

Things are progressing very slowly and at the current rate a possible work stoppage would not occur for several weeks at the very least.
