Trying to understand the employer’s proposal on benefits has been not so difficult to understand.  Basically the proposal is a cap on the dollar amount of benefits offered to us.  But the problem with the proposal is finding out what we loose if it is accepted.  What’s the dollar amount that we loose?  What is the social cost of this proposal to us and our members?

I have taken the time to look at the monetary costs under the proposed arrangement and the costs under our current benefit system.  The results are very disheartening and concerning.

There are two things that stand out when you review this.  Not only will you loose a huge dollar amount of benefits but this plan will affect the health of our current and retired members.  Remember, not only you and your family will be affected by changes to our benefit package but also those who have retired or plan to retire.

Please read the documents highlighted above and review this table and if necessary – ask questions.
