Student Community Service Hours opportunities

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Good morning folks.  This is to let you know that if you or someone you know has high school children looking to get in some of their 40 hours of community service work, we have some opportunities available over the next couple of weeks.  All of the opportunities are related to our Labour Day picnic and parade event:

Saturday August 18th and Saturday August 25th:  9 am until 1 pm at the OPSEU Kingston Regional Office.  Easy work in an air conditioned office folding flyers, using hi-liters and writing on cardboard.  Easiest work you’ll ever get.  And we’ll provide lunch as well.

Monday, Sept. 3rd:  930 until 2 pm:  We require marshals to walk alongside the parade route to ensure an orderly flow of traffic, both human and otherwise.  Parade vests and training provided and the hours will be allocated onn a holiday pay basis.  And, of course, lunch is free at the park.

Anytime in the next two weeks:  We have opportunity for student to deliver flyers to mail boxes in various neighbourhoods promoting Labour day.  this can be done when its convenient.

If these opportunities fit the bill, please contact myself (613-328-2901) or Frank (613-532-6915) and we will be happy to provide more details.
